How often should gate automation systems be serviced?

Reliable operation and extended equipment life are direct benefits of having a regular service and maintenance program for your automatic gates. Regular cleaning, adjustment and lubrication ensures less wear on the components, so your system works trouble free and lasts longer.

Because most gate automation systems are exposed to the harsh Australian elements, they are prone to fail from time to time. We have had to repair gates for many different reasons but, a lot of the time the breakdowns could have been avoided by regular servicing. Things like debris build-up, corrosion, insect infestation (more common than you might imagine) and lack of basic maintenance all conspire to create gate operation failure.

We offer service contracts customised for your specific equipment and operating parameters to help you get the best value from your investment. Service schedules can be annual, biannual, or quarterly depending on usage. We recommend that residential driveway gates should be serviced annually, medium usage gates for apartment blocks should be serviced at least twice a year and heavy usage commercial gate systems require servicing 3-4 times each year. Service contracts may include comprehensive repairs as well as pre-planned and preventative maintenance to ensure the performance and longevity of your gate automation system as well as compliance to Health and Safety requirements.

Many clients opt for our Maintenance and Service Program (MSP) along with the purchase of new gate automation hardware to get the benefit of a 48-month warranty for the motor and controller.  MSP prices start from only $300+GST per annum which includes:

Our MSP program is designed to ensure your automated gates will give you many years of uninterrupted and reliable service. After every service, you receive a comprehensive report to give you a clear picture of how your product is holding up. If further works are necessary, we will provide a quote detailing these works and only move forward after gaining consent. We look after boom gates, swing gates and sliding gates. A scan for service QR code is placed on each asset which when scanned with a smartphone will take you to a webpage detailing the service history and the ability to log a priority service call.
